The Kindred Public School district has an outstanding reputation of offering a solid basic education and several areas of special emphasis, such as foreign language, business education, home economic and agricultural education, music, art and computer education.
For a small community our recreational activities are numerous. We have 2 parks, one of which houses a multipurpose building used for family reunions, hobby shows, dances, bazaars and meetings. There are 2 ball diamonds, a wildlife club, and swimming pool. Fishing, hunting, ice skating, cross-country trails and snowmobiling trails are in or near Kindred.
